I found this old house on a drive through Pennsylvania in the Fall. I often wonder what has happened to cause someone to abandon a home and never return. At one point this home was built and was someone’s pride and joy. When ever I see a building that has been abandoned such as this one, I long to know the story it could tell.
We have had so much rain in our area lately and with summer rain comes wonderful foggy landscapes. Fog can transform such an ordinary drive into a dreamy wonderland.
There is something about old docks that I find such beauty in. I love how the constant lapping of waves have worn the wood to a smooth gray. They must have had so much activity in their heyday but now are neglected and left to bake in the hot sun and cool water.
When ever I see an abandoned dock I must stop and take a picture and try to capture a part of their story.
